Mound House Property Renovation Projects

William H. Case House Restoration
Fundraising continues for the restoration of the William H. Case house to 1921. The majority of exterior restoration was completed in 2008 with grant funding made available by the State of Florida Division of Historical Resources. Plans for the interior phase of restoration include a small museum, space for group educational programming and a gift shop.
Landscape Improvements

Landscape improvements have been funded by Lee County Tourist Development
Council. In the near future, the Mound House grounds will become a beautifully
landscaped, pedestrian friendly step back in time experience. As visitors
traverse accessible walking paths, a series of stories are told through
the landscape. Extensive research and historic photos were used to determine
the location and type of plantings for the landscape restoration project.
Walk-In Shell Mound Exhibit
The shell mound exhibit is expected to open in 2010. Final interpretive design and construction are currently underway. More details about this project can be found on the Archaeology page.
